Drama Association of Wales’ One Act
Playwriting Competition
Closing date: January 31st
2009.
An Adjudicating Panel appointed
by the Drama Association of Wales will read and consider the
plays entered into the Competition and will award the following
prizes:

Best Play for a Youth Cast (16-25 years) - £200
* Best Play in the Open
Category - £200
* Best Play in the Welsh
Language - £200
* plus commemorative
Prizewinners Medals
* The above plays will be
considered for publication by DAW

The Best Play from a Wales Based Playwright will be awarded a
bursary to Ty Newydd, the National Writers’ Centre for
Wales
The competition aims to encourage
the writing of plays for amateur theatre in English and Welsh.
In addition to cash awards, prize-winning plays will be
considered for publication. Previous prizewinners have been
published and performed as a result of promotion through our
New Writing Scheme.
Playing ime: 20-50 MINS, Minimum

Kings Cross Award 2009
Closing date: 1st
May 2009
Prize: The winner will have his or her play produced by
'leading directors and designers' and will be performed at the
Courtyard Theatre, Hoxton. Check it out at the website.
