The Luke Bitmead Bursary for new writers
Closing date:31st August 2009 Prize: The winner will receive a cash award of £2,500 from the Luke Bitmead Memorial Fund and a publishing contract from Legend Press. Entrants must be age 16 or over. Blogger, writer, thinker? If you love telling the world your thoughts, have a travel experience to document, something to groan about, glorify or generally discuss, then this competition is definately for you. Leaf Books invites you to submit blog posts (max 500 words), taken from your existing blog or written specifically for the competition (so you don’t need to have a blog to enter), on any subject imaginable (that doesn’t offend or slander or any of those things, obviously). It can be a work of fiction with a fictional author, a philosophical musing, a comment on current affairs: anything you like. The work will be judged on the written content only: the appearance of the blog is irrelevant, as is everything other than the specific post submitted.
