Mercury Playwriting Prize
Closing date: 31st March 2017.
Prizes: The winning writer will receive a £2000 prize, and a year-long attachment to the Mercury Theatre Colchester as an Associate Artist; plus a production in the Studio Theatre, subject to terms and conditions. Shortlisted scripts will receive a professionally directed reading at the Mercury Theatre. Long-listed scripts will receive written feedback from our panel of readers.
Entry fee: None stated.
Looking for: plays of the highest standard suitable for production in the Mercury Theatre Studio. The Mercury Playwriting Prize is open to writers based in the Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, East Sussex, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, Surrey and West Sussex.

The 2017 Pint-Sized Plays writing competition
Closing date: 31st May 2017.
Prizes: There will be six winning scripts which will be performed in pubs in Tenby, Pembrokeshire during Tenby Festival week, and subsequently at other venues yet to be announced.  The four runners up, at the organisers' discretion, might also play in pubs in advance of the Script Slam.
Entry fee: £5.50.
Looking for: Scripts capable of being staged in a pub with a running time of between 5 and 10 minutes and should require two or three characters only with minimal additional props.
