National Poetry Competition

Closing date: 31st October 2013.
Prizes: First Prize: £5000; Second Prize: £2000; Third Prize: £1000 plus Seven Commendations: £100.
Entry fee: £6 for your first poem, £3.50 for each subsequent entry in the same submission. FREE second entry for Poetry Society members (including those joining now).
All poems must have a title and must not exceed 40 lines in length (excluding title). Entries can be on any subject.

The Swansea and District Writers' Circle Poetry Competition
Closing date: 30th September, 2013
First Prize: £50 + £50 worth of poetry books and a year's membership of Swansea & District Writers' Circle; Second Prize: £30 plus a year's membership of Swansea & District Writers' Circle; Third Prize: £20 plus a year's free membership of Swansea & District Writers' Circle.
Entries cost £3 with a maximum of two additional entries at £2 each poem. Cheques payable to 'Swansea and District Writers Circle.'
The poems must be a maximum of 42 lines on any subject and is open to entrants 18 years of age and over.

There are no style or length restrictions but it should be stressed that a short poem is just as likely to be selected as a longer one.

The Psychiatry Research Trust Poetry Competition 2013
Closing Date: 31st July, 2013
Prizes: First Prize: £150.00 ($238.00); Second Prize: £75.00 ($119.00); Third Prize: £40.00 ($63.00); High Commendation Prizes: 2 x £10.00 ($16.00). Publication: All prize winners will be published in the Excel for Charity News Blog (Online). We shall also publish an anthology* of poems chosen and edited by the judge. Proposed date of publication of anthology is 31st October 2013.
