Q. How can I make sure my computer is protected by a firewall?

Hi Lester,

A. In this day and age everyone should ensure they have a firewall set up on their computer. Windows XP comes with one which you can turn on, if it isn’t already, by going to Start, Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections. Under Pick a Task… choose ‘Change Windows Firewall settings’. On the next screen click the radio button next to the green shield to turn the firewall on.

If it is already turned on and you have doubts as to how well it's performing (some experts say it's not as good as it could be) then you might want to check out some third party software such as Norton Internet Security Click Here or Bullguard Click Here
