The Global Short Story Competition

The organisers say: "The competition is designed to appeal to writers everywhere, from the arid outback of Australia to the baking deserts of Africa, the towering skyscrapers of the United States to the humid cities of Asia, the bustling capitals of Europe to the steamy villages of South America.
What makes this competition different from all the others? Well, for a start we will be marketing it in every country in the world and it will happen every month.

Envoi International Open Poetry Competitions
Deadline for submissions – 20th February, 20th June and 20th October each year.
Prizes: 1st prize £150, 2nd prize £100, 3rd prize £50. Each winner and three runners up win a complimentary copy with their poem. The three runners up are also awarded an annual subscription worth £15. Entry fee: £3 per poem or five poems for £12. Poems can be in any style, on any theme up to 40 lines. Dark Tales Monthly eContest.
A monthly competition for the best new speculative and horror fiction, to be published online and in Dark Tales. The deadline is always the last day of each month. The winning entrant - note that you do not have to be a UK resident - will receive £50 as well as publication on the Dark Tales website and in the print magazine. The entry fee is just £1.50. A tick-sheet critique can be obtained for an extra £3.

PrimeProse Flash Fiction Award
The quarterly deadlines are midnight 31st March, 30th June, 30th September, and 31st December.
The PrimeProse Flash Fiction Award is a quarterly competition for original, previously unpublished fictional works of less than 500 words, in English, in any style or genre. The winners will receive cash prizes (1st prize 60 GBPounds minimum), but each and every entrant will receive a critique of his or her work. Entry fee 6GBP for one entry, 11GBP for three. Writers' Forum Short Story Competition
Deadlines are: 5th day of every month.
Prizes range from a minimum 1st prize £300, 2nd prize £150 and 3rd prize £100 with an annual trophy and a cheque for £1,000 for the best story of the year. The competition is open to all nationalities but entries must be in English. Any entries missing a deadline will be automatically moved forward to the next competition.
Rules: All types of story are required: humour, horror, erotica, crime, romance and science fiction. The preferred length is 1,500 to 3,000 words. Entries must be typed or computer printed on one side of the paper with good margins and double spaced. No hand-written entries can be accepted. Manuscripts must be numbered and the cover sheet should contain the entrant's name, address, phone number, title of the story and number of words. By entering, authors will have been deemed to offer first publication rights and the rights to appear in any future anthology of Writers Forum.
